The admin "It's Monday — write the drop" card was pinned at top-20 on every
route, so on the map it sat on top of the top-right toolbar (Add Spot / Weather
/ More). It now drops below that toolbar on the map routes (top-40) while other
pages keep top-20, and the dismiss button is a proper compact target.
Audit of the newsletter section found two real bugs.
1) /newsletter rendered in an infinite loop (100% CPU, React 'Maximum update
depth exceeded'). Chain: useSyncedAppData returned a fresh object each render
-> useReadState.apply (dep: synced) changed identity -> markNewsletterRead /
markAllRead changed every render -> the page effect (deps include it) re-ran
after every render -> the mark set a NEW state object -> loop. The
notification bell looped the same way while open.
- useLocalStorage: setter is now referentially stable (ref + functional set).
- useSyncedAppData: returned object is memoized.
- useReadState: apply reads synced/interactive from refs (stable); marks are
idempotent (same object when already marked) so React bails.
- NewsletterPage marks read once per visit (mount-once ref guard).
2) Issues + subscription markers were published via the default pool (the
author's own NIP-65 relays) but READ via useSkateRelays (community relay +
reader's relays; logged-out = community relay only), so an admin without
goskatespots in their list would publish drops nobody could see. Composer,
backfill panel and the subscribe hook now publish to getWriteRelays() and
fail loudly if every relay rejects (useSpotChat pattern). NIP.md untouched
(no schema change).
Also: guard the overlay pill/reminder against an empty archive, and drop a
redundant canPublish clause.
Data-driven pass (adds rollup-plugin-visualizer behind ANALYZE=1):
- MapPage was statically imported by the router, dragging the map route AND the
IndexedDB offline-cache layer into the entry -> now lazy()
- NewsletterOverlay imported NEWSLETTER_ISSUES from the whole NewsletterPage
module -> types + data moved to lib/newsletterIssues.ts
- SasquatchGuide (assistant overlay) lazy-loaded in Layout
- Cashu stack is now a separate chunk (useCashu), off the critical path
Net: entry down ~61%; first paint no longer parses the map, the newsletter
page, the assistant or the wallet stack.
- Fix iOS directions: Apple Maps first on Apple platforms, removed broken geo: URI,
added Waze option, fixed popover z-index clipping behind Sheet component
- Fix 'Me' bottom nav: now deep-links to /settings?section=profile for logged-in users
so tapping 'Me' shows your profile, not a generic settings menu
- Add SettingsPage URL param support: ?section=X opens sub-screen directly
- Add onboarding welcome banner: dismissible strip at top of map for logged-out users
with 'Get Started' CTA pointing to /onboarding, stored in localStorage
- Fix Lab empty state: FAQ link + login prompt for logged-out users
- Fix Events empty state: FAQ link added to all empty state instances
- Fix GearSwap empty state: actionable 'Clear Filters' button + FAQ link
- Community stats: add 'this month' delta badges (+N this month) on all stat cards
- Newsletter pill: hide on map page to eliminate bottom sheet overlap conflict

(founder + second admin), shows every Monday, one-click opens
Shakespeare AI with prompt pre-filled to write the next issue,
dismisses for the rest of that Monday via localStorage
- Footer — Newsletter link added to desktop footer alongside License/Supporters
- AppRouter — /newsletter route added (lazy loaded)
To add Issue #002: prepend a new object to NEWSLETTER_ISSUES array
in NewsletterPage.tsx. The pill and Monday reminder auto-update.
