Simple Zap Integration Plan
The Problem
Right now: Zaps are hidden. Only visible on detail pages. No one knows they exist.
Result: People don't zap. People don't set up wallets. Feature is wasted.
The Solution (3 Simple Changes)
1. Show Zap Counts Everywhere ⚡
Add this to every card:
┌──────────────────────┐
│ 🛹 Venice Skatepark │
│ 📍 Venice Beach, CA │
│ │
│ ⚡ 2,450 sats │ ← ADD THIS
│ │
└──────────────────────┘
Why:
- People see zaps exist
- Creates curiosity: "What are sats?"
- Shows which spots are valued
- One click to zap
Where:
- Spot cards on /map
- Event cards on /events
- Shop cards on /shops
- Coach cards on /coaches
Time: 2-3 hours
2. Make Wallet Setup Worth It 💰
Current problem: "Why should I set up a wallet?"
New approach: "You have money waiting for you!"
How it works:
Step 1: User adds a spot (no wallet needed)
↓
Step 2: Someone zaps their spot (100 sats)
↓
Step 3: User sees banner:
┌─────────────────────────────────┐
│ 🎉 You earned 100 sats! │
│ (about 4 cents) │
│ │
│ [Set Up Wallet] to claim it → │
└─────────────────────────────────┘
↓
Step 4: User clicks → simple 2-minute setup
↓
Step 5: Money appears in their wallet ✅
Why:
- Shows immediate value
- Money is powerful motivator
- Reduces friction
Time: 4-5 hours
3. Add Simple Leaderboards 🏆
Show who's getting zapped:
🏆 Most Zapped This Week
1. Venice Skatepark 2,450 ⚡
2. Hollywood High 1,800 ⚡
3. Echo Park Lake 1,200 ⚡
Why:
- Creates friendly competition
- Shows what's possible
- Motivates contribution
- Makes it social/fun
Time: 3-4 hours
How People Will Use It
Use Case 1: Discover a Great Spot
Sarah opens the app
↓
Sees Venice Skatepark has 5,000 sats
↓
"Wow, people really love this spot!"
↓
Goes to skate there
↓
Has great session
↓
Zaps the creator 100 sats to say thanks
Use Case 2: Get Rewarded for Contributing
Mike adds a new spot to the map
↓
10 people use it and have fun
↓
They each zap Mike 50 sats (500 total)
↓
Mike sees: "You have 500 sats waiting!"
↓
Sets up wallet (2 minutes)
↓
Gets his Bitcoin ✅
↓
Now wants to add more spots!
Use Case 3: Support Your Local Shop
User visits favorite skate shop
↓
Finds shop on the app
↓
Sees shop has 2,000 sats from community
↓
Zaps shop 200 sats to show support
↓
Shop owner sees growing support
↓
Offers 10% discount to zappers
↓
Win-win!
Use Case 4: Fund a Skate Event
Organizer creates contest event
↓
Community sees event, wants to help
↓
20 people zap 500 sats each (10,000 total)
↓
Organizer uses Bitcoin for prizes
↓
Event happens, everyone wins

The Real Goal
Not: Get everyone to use Bitcoin

Bitcoin is just the tool. The goal is community.
When someone zaps:
- They're saying "thanks for this spot"
- They're supporting the creator
- They're funding the local scene
- They're building something together
That's what matters.
Key Messages (Simple Language)
What are zaps?
"Small Bitcoin tips to say thanks. Like buying someone a coffee, but instant and digital."
Why should I set up a wallet?
"People want to send you money for the spots you added. Takes 2 minutes to claim it."
How much does it cost?
"Free to set up. Free to send. No fees. That's why we use Bitcoin."
Is this complicated?
"Nope. Click, scan, done. Easier than Venmo."
What can I do with the sats?
"Save them, send them, spend them. They're real money."
What NOT to Do
❌ Don't require wallet to use app
❌ Don't explain blockchain technology
❌ Don't use words like "Lightning Network" or "BOLT11"
❌ Don't make it feel like work
❌ Don't hide the zap counts
✅ Do make it visible ✅ Do make it easy ✅ Do make it rewarding ✅ Do make it fun ✅ Do make it social
Bottom Line
Three simple changes:
- Show zap counts (make visible)
- Show pending money (create motivation)
- Show leaderboards (make social)
Total time: ~10 hours Total impact: Transform the app from static content to living economy
That's it. Simple.
